Position: Senior Risk Manager – Future Conducting Officer

Location: Luxembourg

Our client is a boutique asset management firm specialising in UCITS but transitioning to the alternative investments space focusing on real estate. The role has a clear path to becoming the Conducting Officer and you will be joining a friendly, professional and determined team.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Oversight:

  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures tailored to the unique characteristics of in-house funds, ensuring compliance with UCITS and real estate regulations.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, stress testing, and scenario analysis to identify, measure, and monitor risks associated with fund portfolios.

Portfolio Analysis:

  • Assess the risk-return profile of in-house funds, providing insightful analysis to support investment decision-making processes.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, economic indicators, and other factors affecting fund performance and risk exposure.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of relevant regulatory developments and updates in Luxembourg and internationally, ensuring that risk management practices align with current industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all fund activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate risk findings and recommendations to senior management, investment teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance risk awareness and promote a risk-conscious culture within the organisation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management with UCITS and alternative investment funds
  • In-depth knowledge of Luxembourg regulatory frameworks related to investment funds.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex risk concepts into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Professional qualifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are highly desirable.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
