Investment Manager (m/f/d) Alternative Investments – Infrastructure Equity in Luxembourg

 

Job Purpose / Role

 

The Alternative Investments Real Assets team is responsible for the asset class Infrastructure. It forms the link between the Group sponsors and the asset managers,- captive as well as external – for the asset class. The team is partly based in Luxembourg.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the continuous review and development of the Infrastructure Equity Investment Strategy
  • Preparing analysis and recommendations for the top management and the Group Alternative Investment Committee on all matters related to the infrastructure asset class
  • In depth analysis of investment proposals for direct equity investments in the infrastructure asset class (brownfield and greenfield) in sub sectors such as (but not limited to) energy, communication and transport proposed by our asset managers
  • Identify infrastructure investment opportunities in the market to enable the company to reach its Net Zero Carbon commitments and overarching ESG targets, most notably to help driving the energy transition
  • Manage relationship with captive and external asset managers
  • Follow in numerous ways overall market developments in the asset class and search for additional investment opportunities to complement the activities of the captive manager to ensure that a broad range of infrastructure sub-sectors is covered
  • Monitoring, analyzing and steering the global portfolio within the infrastructure asset class
  • Supporting investors and other stakeholders with regard to portfolio management, steering, planning and strategy implementation

 

Key requirements / Experience / Skills

  • Strong academic background (university degree in business administration or economics) with focus on finance / investments / valuation
  • Deep interest in and affinity for investments, esp. for alternative investments
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in investment management or asset management, ideally in the alternatives/infrastructure equity space
  • Experience in carrying out due diligence on infrastructure investment managers preferred
  • Excellent analytical and implementation skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, project management and conflict management skills to manage diverse stakeholders and providers
  • CFA charter or equivalent qualification would be an asset
  • Written and oral fluency in in English; other languages, in particular German and/or French would be an asset
