Head of Compliance and RC, New AIFM
A Head of Compliance and RC in a new AIFM (Alternative Investment Fund Manager) in the real estate industry in Luxembourg is responsible for ensuring that the company operates in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. They play a key role in establishing and maintaining a robust compliance framework within the organization.
Responsibilities may include:
1. Developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures specific to the AIFM real estate sector, in accordance with Luxembourg regulatory requirements.
2. Conducting regular compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities to identify potential areas of non-compliance or regulatory risk.
3. Keeping up-to-date with changes in applicable laws and regulations and advising the management team on the impact of these changes on the business.
4. Providing guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) requirements.
5. Conducting periodic compliance audits to assess the effectiveness of existing controls and processes, and making recommendations for improvement.
6. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, such as legal, finance, and risk management teams, to ensure a coordinated approach to compliance.
7. Liaising with regulatory authorities, external auditors, and other relevant parties on compliance-related matters, such as regulatory filings and inspections.
8. Investigating and reporting any compliance breaches or violations to the appropriate authorities, and assisting in the resolution of any related issues.
9. Participating in industry working groups and forums to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in compliance in the real estate sector.
10. Assisting in the preparation of compliance reports and presentations for senior management and board meetings.
The senior compliance officer should have a strong understanding of Luxembourg regulatory requirements for AIFMs and real estate, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be required to work closely with various stakeholders across the organization.
