Financial Controller – Private Equity Fund

Introduction:

 

Our client is a market leading PE Investment Manager.

We are looking for a new PE Fund Controller for a newly created fund.

This is a great opportunity for someone coming from the Big 4 with alternative funds experience.

 

Job Description:

 

To Control the Fund

To assist with the Control function of the other Company Funds.

Contribute to the production of the quarterly and annual accounting & reports in collaboration with the Funds’ administrative agent and team members (including 360° peer review);

Forecast & monitor future cash flows of the companies;

Prepare forecasts & budgets for the companies;

Monitor and provide support to Luxembourg tax calculations/liabilities/tax risk exposure for the companies;

Respond to Fund investor and internal company enquries in a timely and well thought out manner;

Assist with the day-to-day operations of the companies;

Support, and suggest improvements, including risk-controlled efficiencies, to the internal controls & procedures of the Finance Area;

Other projects so as to ensure the smooth running of the Funds’ structures.

 

Core competencies:

 

To Control a Fund on behalf of the Finance team of the Management Company;

Develop additional/improve existing financial control tools;

Ability to track and provide support to a number of recurring and project deliverables running simultaneously;

Complete tasks to a high level of professionalism;

Deliver reports and responses on time;

Support the Finance Manager & Director/work independently to detect and solve potential financial issues and delays;

Support the Finance Manager & Director/work independently so as to trouble shoot and potential issues and develop solutions;

Apply professional judgement and skepticism to accounting and tax related matters;

Pre-empt future corporate actions so as to ensure these corporate events are planned sufficiently in advance; and

Liaise directly with service providers to the companies, including tax & legal advisors.

 

Profile::

 

Languages:

Fluency in English. Fluency in French seen as a positive.  

 

Training:

Strong academic record from a Business School or a University with a specialization in Audit and/or Accounting/Finance;

CA qualified;

Other professional qualifications, such as being a CFA or ACCA  charterholder, a plus.

 

Character:

Strong focus on detail

Hardworking and motivated to deliver a high quality product (reports, presentations, etc…)

Work both independently and in the team

 

Experience:

4+ years of experience in Audit or equivalent Fund Administration experience is required – ideally Audit Senior III / Assistant Manager level of Big 4.
