Manage, supervise and review activities in the accounting department supporting the European group of companies.
Recommend and direct change and improvement initiatives.
Act as the primary back-up to Director of SSC and senior accounting staff.
Leads Financial Accounting and Reporting processes for all of the European subsidiaries & international Business Units
Management SSC, local Business Unit Controllers, internal & external Auditors, EHQ Finance, Tax and Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Asia SSC and external support organisations within a matrix management structure.
• Manage & develop the SSC accounting department, including staffing levels, performance evaluations, consistency and quality of department output – group of 15
• Responsible for completing companies monthly, quarterly and annual accounts and submitting to European Headquarter for consolidation
• Monitor compliance with group accounting standards & SOX and internal control requirements under the Swiss Code of Obligation
• Establish work procedures and standards to improve efficiency of assigned areas
• Ensure a high quality standard of documentation for General ledger Reconciliations and review procedures
• Proactively support the business in all interdisciplinary projects and initiatives
• Maintain active contact with different interfaces such as treasury & Tax, AP, AR, local controlling, European & Corporate Headquarter
• Co-ordinate audit relationships both Internal and External
• Provide full statutory accounting for all European legal entities & ensure Statutory compliance across Europe
• Provide routine Management reporting to European and selected US Business Units.
• Bachelor / University degree focused in accounting/finance
• Accountant Certification (A master degree in Accounting or CPA/ ACCA membership)
• formal audit background will be considered as an asset
• Experience as a manager in Finance/Accounting in an international environment – in an International SSC is considered a plus and in a Big Four Public Accounting is also a plus

• Excellent accounting skills and outstanding balance sheet confidence
• US Multi-national experience with US-GAAP reporting
• 5+ years PQE
• Good communication skills & team playing attitude
• Understanding of complex relationships and numerical flair
• Fluent in English and one other European language
• Hands-on mentality and ability to work independently
• Good problem solving and decision making capabilities
• Very good MS Office and SAP skills (preferred)
• Quality Process documentation knowledge (preferred)
